Their websites make you wade through hundreds of names trying to find one that fits your needs. And, when you do find a speaker you like, they may reside on the opposite side of the country from your meeting location.
At Gulf Coast Speakers, we have a more narrow focus. We have identified a finite number of experts who are based in the Gulf Coast region. These nationally known speakers reside in Gulf Coast region cities and may live within driving distance of your event! Their close proximity to your event removes their dependence from the instability of the airline industry. If you are planning a meeting in this region you could benefit from using a Texas speaker, Louisiana speaker, Arkansas speaker, Mississippi speaker, Alabama speaker, Georgia speaker or Florida speaker!
Many people wonder why speaker fees are so high. In years past, a speaker could hop on a plane, speak at your event that afternoon and fly home that evening. Now, to insure their appearance at your event, speakers must arrive the day before and often cannot find a flight back the same day. Thus, a one hour event costs a speaker three days on his or her calendar and two nights hotel expense for you.
By removing all these obstacles, the speakers listed on our site are often willing to give a “local” discount on their normal fee. In order to be listed on our site, we have asked speakers to provide us with a fee that is inclusive of all travel expenses with the exception of hotel costs. This makes your budgeting easier. And knowing that your speaker will be traveling from the same part of the U.S. as your event reduces your stress level as well as theirs. Everyone wins!
Why not just look up the speaker’s website and contact them directly?
You certainly can do this. However, by contacting us first, we can learn about your goals and objectives and help narrow your selection by recommending a small number of speakers that would be the best fit for your event. Also—don’t forget that some speakers listed have discounted their fee, a reduction that would not normally be available to you otherwise!
A Different Kind of Booking Process!
With many speaker bureaus, the booking process is very secretive. The bureau recommends a speaker to you. If you are interested, they contact the speaker to see if they are available, but do not disclose you or your business to the speaker until after the event is booked. Since we work only with speakers we know and trust, there are no such restrictions or secret negotiations. We are happy for you to talk to our speakers directly, to view their website, to send them an email—anything you need to do to make sure they are the right fit for your event.
When you’ve made your decision, just let us know and the speaker will contact you to send a contract and a request for a 50% date deposit. Since you and the speaker will handle the contracting directly, there is no possibility of miscommunication or misunderstanding on what is expected. When you are thrilled by the speaker at your event, they are free to talk with you directly about other events - something most bureaus strictly prohibit.
